Some exciting news for the BonkerBeat this week: I've officially launched my podcast!
This past year, there were over 120 Million people who listened to a podcast- that number is likely to grow to 160 million by 2023.
Podcasting has been steadily growing in popularity over the past 5 years and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. I want to offer my content in as many different ways as possible, and now that I have begun to build an audience here on the blog and on my social media platforms I decided now was the best time to take the next step.
I am fortunate to have met some pretty awesome people in my few short strolls around the sun. I want to have some of my close friends and colleagues come on the podcast to have more in-depth discussions on what they do for a living, a passion they have, or even a hobby that interests them.
I think the growth in podcasts is largely due to the concept of getting to see what's behind the curtains. It is a more authentic form of media, that allows listeners to feel as though they are in on the conversation. I want to provide thoughtful discussions that relate to the topics I write about- and learn something along the way.
My first episode goes into the idea behind the pod, and why I am so bullish on the future of creating content.
My goal is to start bi-weekly with these episodes, hoping to get up to weekly once I get more efficient with audio / video editing. (We're learning on the fly here at the BonkerBeat)
