The best investment I'll ever make.

This past weekend was the greatest weekend of my life.

7 years ago this weekend I asked Amanda to be my girlfriend sitting in the front seat of her Jeep Wrangler before she drove home after her college graduation, because there was just no way that we could be a part that summer. Flash forward 7 years and I'm on one knee asking her to marry me, ready to spend the rest of our lives together.

I am still coming down from the high you feel after getting engaged, Amanda and I were fortunate to share this weekend with our family and some of our closest friends, and there is really no way to describe the feelings we had this weekend other than pure bliss. I am just starting to be able to reflect on how special all that was, and how neither of us will ever forget these magical times.

I've been writing on the blog for more than 2 years now, I've covered topics like compounding interest, retirement savings, and career advice.

I'm also thankful that I've covered some of my big life events like promotions, birthdays, and getting our dog Daisy.

There was no question I needed to put this weekend in a time capsule of my blog. Amanda is the biggest rock of my whole life, and there is nothing that moves my world like she does.

There are so many ways I can describe Amanda. She's beautiful, funny, resilient, smart, and incredibly supportive.

I know with 100% certainty I would not be in the place I am professionally or personally if I didn't have Amanda's support every step of the way.

When you are going through the trials and tribulations of life, there will be setbacks that knock you down.

Sometimes you'll need someone to help get you back up.

Amanda has always been there to pick me up.

I am forever grateful to have found my person to go through life together with. I know that through thick and thin I'll have her back, and she will have mine.

So thank you Amanda for being there for me and showing me what it truly feels like to be loved. I love you with my whole heart and I can't wait to see where our crazy adventure called life takes us.

And btw - get ready for lots of "Is that really your last name?"

"Yes, yes it is."

I know, it's pretty Bonker(s).
